Mr. Chesser has practiced law principally in areas of intellectual property & entertainment, immigration and international issues, and for over twenty years has enjoyed helping foreign professionals relocate and launch new businesses within the United States. This work has increasingly involved educational programs and job placement assistance, as well as legal services. In more recent years Mr. Chesser has provided consulting support for well known entertainers and media companies expanding into Asian markets, and was one of the first attorneys responsible for bringing western music into previously closed communist countries such as Russia and China. He continues to consult with professionals concerning international business planning, visas, tax, customs, and logistics in foreign markets, Mr. Chesser's typical clients have included int'l manufacturers; universities; government entities; churches, entertainment corps. & Grammy award-winning artists.
In helping foreign nationals over the years, Mr. Chesser has integrated many areas of business, science, culture, and law into his work. His creative approach to problem solving is reflected in his past work as advisor to university general counsel, and corporate boards. As an experienced practitioner in his field Mr. Chesser has helped coach other attorneys in roles such as mentor to the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and speaker for the U.S. Department of Commerce's China Road Show.
Mr. Chesser's civic affiliations have included terms as a chairman for the Davidson County Libertarian Party, followed by service as founding president of the non-partisan, American League of Citizens. He is a Registered Visa Officer with the U.S. State Department and helps administer the Rotary J-1 Youth Exchange Program. He also volunteers as a JAG officer for the Tennessee State Guard where he holds the rank of Major.
